We are making more trash than ever before. Materials are being thrown away at an alarming rate despite their usefulness. The process of manufacturing, transporting, incinerating, and disposing these goods pollutes the air, contributes to global warming, and the 25% left as ash requires long-term management and storage in an ash monofill. Not exactly the kind of legacy we want to leave for future generations.
